Salah Offers Statement to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Salah said sorry to the team in the wake of the uproar from his recent interview.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to voicing frustrations and stating his relationship with manager had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologise.’”
The head coach has chosen not to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.

The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
The midfielder also implied that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the initial controversy. Jones believes the forward's comments were not designed to destabilise the squad.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a good place,” he finished. “We’re past that now and we’re uniting strongly, performing and securing victories.”
