The midfielder Crosses on corner kicks and set-plays were dangerous. Had license to roam in left midfield only to be in an offside position when the ball arrived in front of goal. Awarded a deserved substitution on the hour mark. Six

The star midfielder Operated in an advanced position out wide while also contributed with the hard yards. Showed glimpses of brilliance and scuffed an effort wide. Substituted towards the end for a teammate, his competition, following a yellow card. 7

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with the team's clearest opportunity in the opening period, his strike well saved from the Albanian keeper. With a teammate holding position, he had to provide width out wide although his balls from wide areas varied in quality. Substituted with 15 to go. Six

The captain The difference-maker with his two more goals at international level. The first a trademark close-range tap-in and his next a superb header following a clever run off his defender. Aged 32, his form is unwavering and the side stand a real opportunity next summer with him up top. 8

The attacker Struggled to get into the game out wide. Was presented with a decent opportunity after being played in from a teammate yet the keeper made the save. His replacement made much more of an impact after coming on. Five
