Actor Refutes Anti-Vax Position After Voicing Disputed Pandemic Feature

Liam Neeson has given his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the safety of immunizations and commends ex- health official the political figure.

The Feature's Provocative Basis

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a popular book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who became famous during the global outbreak for assertions that the illness was a result of a faulty batch of the influenza shot.

The book's collaborator, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with conspiracy-prone figure the Infowars host. Heckenlively wrote online hailing Neeson's involvement in the project.

An Unequivocal Rebuttal

Representatives for the actor have provided a statement pushing back against claims that he subscribes to anti-vaccine beliefs.

"Many understand that unethical practices may occur within the pharmaceutical industry, but that must not be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the comment states. "He has never been, and is not, against vaccines. His long work with the UN children's agency reinforces his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."

The response added that the performer did not shape the film's editorial content and that concerns about its content are best addressed to the producers.

Central Claims Featured in the Film

In the film, the narration provided by Neeson includes several provocative points:

  • It suggests that pro-immunization voices have called for "unconditional submission" to health authorities.
  • It argues that "science has become deeply politicized."
  • RFK Jr is shown claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
  • The film also criticizes pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Concerning the immunizations, it cites a perspective that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Context and Ongoing Debates

It includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the subject of a BBC apology by the network for violations of guidelines.

Recently, the political figure called on the Centers for Disease Control to revise its long-held position that there is no connection between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is also referenced in the documentary, despite a recent study from the global health body stating no connection has been found.

An Earlier Position of Support

Differing from the documentary's message, Neeson has previously expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a Unicef global ambassador.

Two years ago, he described vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much benefit they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This is not the end of our story. Rather, it is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
